Dan Baldwin creates a unique mix of abstract and figurative painting. He creates scenes that reflect reality, but also connect with the power of the imagination and the private, inner workings of his mind.
His instinctive style almost defies classification, having the ability to change drastically according to theme and content.

When asked about his creative process, Dan has said:
“My chosen mediums are emulsion, spray-paint and acrylic on canvas or wood with 3d mixed media, paint pens, pencils and screen-printing/collage. I do not plan a piece but start with colour and layers, then build it up like a piece of music, layering until the balance is right. I combine hand painted elements with photographic screen-printing and collage. I get source material from all over like old books and antique toys, razor blades, knifes, or vintage crucifixes. I have always been a collector since I was a boy. I also hand paint ceramic vases.”
Born in Manchester in 1972, Dan Baldwin studied communication media at Eastbourne College of Art and Design with commendation and won an award for best student. He received his BA with honors from Kent Institute of Art and Design, Maidstone, in Communication Media and Illustration. He lived in Brighton for twelve years and is currently based in the West Sussex countryside.
Dan Baldwin has exhibited his paintings, prints and ceramics around the world alongside world-renowned artists such as Banksy, Antony Micallef, Jamie Hewlett, Peter Blake, and Nick Walker amongst others. He has enjoyed a stream of critically lauded sell-out solo shows and presented his work in art fairs in Basel, Miami, L.A, Tokyo, San Francisco, London and New York.
His work is internationally celebrated, championed and collected by an exclusive clientele. In recent years, Baldwin has become a solid fixture at auction houses. In February 2008, he set a record at Bonhams in when his piece, 'Apocalypse Wow – The End of Everything' sold for over £25,000.
Many respected publications have also featured Dan Baldwin and his work including Vogue, ELLE, I.D., Flair, The New Order, Art of England, Aesthetica, Style, Dazed and Confused, Modern Painters and Living Etc.
He is currently publishing all print editions with CCA galleries, who also produce all Peter Blake prints.
